The future of sustainable agriculture has seen an important event in which Techtra Technology Transfer Institute participated. The conference titled "Sustainability in Today's Agriculture" took place on February 22-23, 2024, in Paton, Slovakia, under the framework of the 2SF-Skilled Farmers, Sustainable Farms project. This project was supported by the Erasmus+ program, initiated through collaboration between the Young Farmers Association of Hungary (AGRYA) and the Slovakian Farmer Civic Association, with additional support from OTP Agrár, Bayer Crop Science, and Századvég.
The primary objective of the project is to shape farmers' mindsets. It places particular emphasis on environmental sustainability, encouraging farmers to recognize and understand their responsibility and importance in this process. According to the project organizers, alongside discussions on sustainability, it is crucial to address the issue of ensuring the continuity of sustainable agriculture. They believe that improving the situation requires education tailored to farmers' needs, dissemination of best practices, and establishing communication and dialogue free from extremes.
The 2SF project not only emphasizes the importance of sustainability but also takes concrete steps to ensure that farmers understand and effectively implement sustainable agricultural practices. In doing so, it serves not only the sustainability of present-day agriculture but also contributes to the sustainability of future agriculture, demonstrating that shared responsibility and collaboration can bring about positive change.
