For the first time, the Techtra Technology Transfer Institute organized a professional lecture series at the prestigious Hilton Hotel with the participation of more than thirty people. During the full-day workshop, potential partners in the field of additive manufacturing technology introduced themselves to each other. The event concluded with a useful roundtable discussion where the professional representatives of participating universities and international companies agreed on short- and long-term strategic thinking.
On February 8, the Techtra Technology Transfer Institute held its kickoff workshop, focusing on additive manufacturing technologies. The event was hosted by Lilla Nedeczky, International HUB Leader, and Dr. Tamás Markovits, an expert in the field of additive manufacturing. The workshop featured representatives from AMEXCI, Siemens, SAAB, and several Hungarian universities, including the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and the University of Szeged. Partner companies such as MouldTech Systems, Knorr Bremse, AQ Anton, Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd., and graphIT Ltd. were also in attendance.
During the workshop, topics discussed included the business model used in Sweden in relation to the local additive manufacturing technology ecosystem, 3D printing technology (both Swedish and Hungarian models), and opportunities for connecting to the Hungarian market. Techtra's partners presented their know-how, emphasized the importance of secure data storage, and shared their value-creating principles in manufacturing mechanisms and technological processes. Invited speakers reported on the development and production of modern brake mechanics, control, and air supply product lines in railway transportation, as well as the characteristics of AM printed design.
At the end of the workshop, participants joined a professional discussion at the invitation of Lilla Nedeczky, where they welcomed similar events and highlighted the importance of knowledge exchange. The day concluded with a group photo of the participants. The central message of the professional day was the potential for collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and experience. Participants agreed to continue their joint thinking within the framework of a regular collaboration. Techtra aims to organize similar workshops in the future, regularizing them and expanding the scope of cooperation to include more research focus areas.
